Mary was born and raised in Denver, Colorado, where she began piano studies at the tender age of five.  Throughout her school years, she successfully participated in a number of piano proficiency exams and competitions, a highlight of which was earning the Paderewski Gold Medal for Piano Performance.  Mary is a classically trained pianist.  She was awarded a Bachelor of Music Degree with Honors in Piano Performance from the University of Colorado in Boulder.  While in Boulder, Mary performed her original music with three successful bands.  But Colorado could hold her only so long.  After submitting tapes of some of her compositions, Mary was signed to a publishing contract and made her move to Los Angeles where she currently resides.

While in California, Mary began studies with the renowned composer-arranger Lyle ("Spud") Murphy.  She is a graduate of his highly regarded twelve volume composition course, " The Equal Interval System."  Her compositions have since been performed and recorded by artists such as: Sergio Mendes, Helen Reddy, and Glenn Yarbrough.  She has also written music for television, including the series "Matlock" and for numerous feature films.

In addition to her success as a composer, Mary enjoys the intimacy of performance.  She has toured all over the globe as a keyboardist and vocalist with Wilson Phillips, Martika, Bobby Womack, Glenn Yarbrough, Bobby Vinton, Katey Sagal, and served as Musical Director and keyboardist for Helen Reddy, Freda Payne, and currently for Little Anthony and the Imperials.

Mary recently finished recording her first CD entitled "Loss My Cool".  It features some of the finest musicians in the world including Vinnie Colaiuta and Bob Shepard.  Her depth of musical knowledge from classical to jazz brings a unique blend of quality to her compositions.  She is a passionate performer who truly enjoys what she does, and is able to convey that to her audience.  She makes you feel a part of her performance with each and every note that she sings or plays.  The sincerity of her music strikes a deep emotional chord in the hearts of all who are fortunate enough to hear it.
